I'm optimistic now that I'll get a more 'normal' amount of random attacks: we'll see. I decided to set off with the blades stuff, rescued the hermit and walked out of Riften.Roar! Blast! Bam! a dragon attacks.oh, the joy! I did a load of random dungeons, the Dawnguard main quest and Dragonborn main quest but didn't get any further than finding that Windfarter's cornet had been stolen. I had it in my mind that the random dragon attacks start after defeating the one at Whiterun, but in the past I've always done the Greybeards' Horn of Jurgen Windfarter and the Blades stuff right afterward.this time I didn't. I think I've just found the answer to my over-shy dragons. The general population still go on about all the dragon attacks, which seems out of place when there have only been two, Helgen and Whiterun. After all, the whole reason for the main game is supposed to be that Skyrim is beset by dragons and needs a hero type to kill the army of Alduin. Also, I find that it detracts from the game. I kind of miss being set upon by the big lizards. I've done heaps of that to try to discover most of the locations. It's not that I've not been wandering in the wilds either.

In fact I've encountered so few that I've had to use the console to give myself dragon souls for most of the shouts that I've learned. So far (I'm presently level 51) in Special Edition, the only dragons I've seen are the one at Whiterun and dragons at the word walls.

In the middle of handing over crimson nirnroot at Sarethi Farm.Roar! Yet another dragon. Turn up outside Windhelm.Wallop! Dragon attack. With the old Skyrim, they were constantly plaguing you. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that those random dragon attacks have completely stopped in Skyrim Special Edition?
